Wine Pairings:

Malivoire “Ladybug” Rosé, Niagara Peninsula VQA, Ontario, $16

Although a rosé may seem like an unusual pairing with lamb chops, Malivoire’s Ladybug with its explosive nose of rhubarb, rapberries and redcurrants work well. It’s a go-to summer wine and coupled with the spicing in this recipe, the flavours really come forward.

Sibling Rivalry Red, Niagara Peninsula VQA, Ontario, $14

From the Henry of Pelham stable of wines, this juicy red was one of the first out of the gate when it comes to approachable and affordable Ontario blends. The mixture of ripe Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc tempered with just a hint of oak is the perfect foil for these cheesy burgers.

Insider’s tip: Chill wines in the fridge for 10 minutes before serving.
